Picked up these tonight. From the woman who had the sale down at Lofts on Liberty. She changed her mind about keeping them. They sound amazing. Might have to mount the turntable on a shelf on the wall.

Thanks for all the nice words. I found large cutting board in my late uncle's "collection" (read 'hoard') of several rooms full over seemingly everything and plan to trim it down to size to set the amps on them on the floor close to the speakers. Putting them on the floor will free up space on my rack for the turntable. Also planning to install the mono cartridge I bout a couple weeks back and just spin mono vinyl for a while. Phil Spector would be proud!
Since these are mono blocks, they use single strand interconnects. I have various brands of interconnects and was just going to pull a couple of the three strand A/V interconnects apart. I'd expect that most manufacturers (at least the ones that don't sell for $50 meter) use the same type wire for all three strands.

They should work just fine.

I've been doing that for a few years now, I don't think I have one red blue green set of cables that are still "joined" together anymore.

That will work just fine, if all three of the A/V cables in the bundle are the same-as with component cable sets. Be careful of the cable types that are for composite video and left/right audio. While splitting them will work, they are not always the same, with one being a 75ohm coax and the other two being standard audio type connectors (even though all connectors are RCA plugs)

I've only had the Heresys and Canton CT800s hooked up (using a 5 foot run of 12G wire) and they both sound very good. As per rgpit's suggestion, I raised the 800s off the floor a bit so the tweeters are around ear level. I plan to insert a speaker selector into the chain and that will allow me to instantly A/B them. Then I guess I'll need to listen to some dynamic recordings that I am very familiar with like 'Dark Side of the Moon', "Kind of Blue" and "Brothers in Arms" . Maybe the Beatles mono CD box. And even take a few notes on particular songs because honestly don't have the memory to recall those unique details that might separate one speaker from the other. And I really think I would like to sell one or two pars of the 'more premium" speakers that I have. Right now I have the Canton 800s, the Heresys, Vandersteen 2Cs and Dahlquist DQ10s, all, to my ears, sound great. They are "nice" to have around and rotate in but honestly can't justify storing these things just to have them (but that's just me). Stayed tuned. I have a couple questions for future threads and with all this downtime in the near future, we can at least be somewhat productive!!
