Title: Repair Services Needed in Beaver PA - Marantz 2226b

Hi, I'm new and also a new owner of a vintage Marantz 2226b receiver. Does anyone have any good recommendations in W. PA of anyone who is reputable and skilled to work on these units? I was listening to some music quite loudly and then I lost the right side A channel speaker then shortly after that (seconds) the whole receiver went dead. I have googled a few places and made a few calls already but not getting much response in the way of call backs. I have tried Galaxie and Progressive but not sure if its a sign of the times but they all have very limited hours. Galaxie said they cant look at my unit until end of March at the earliest.

Any help or suggestions / reccomendations would be of great help!

Unfortunately, those are two main "shows" in town...  Maybe someone else knows more...

The only other place I'm aware of is the Hifi Dr or something like that advertises in the electronics section on CL. I don't know anything about his work or reputation.

Was the turntable on top of the receiver when this happened? You may have overheated it, they need room to vent hot air, especially when working hard and loud.

That's the first thing i checked to see.. it didn't seem overly hot at all.. i intend to get a fan for in between when I get it fixed.

I found a guy in Cleveland that comes highly recommended.. he also got back to me very quickly so he's already got points for him :) its a bit of a drive for me (2hrs) but apparently he does great work.

I'll let you know if it's my experience as well..
