It's a crate, but I don't remember the model. It's a 60 watt 2 channel 1-12 tube combo. Sounds great. Got it used for $200. I think they sold for like $650 new.

Does it make the sweet tones?

Yep... I haven't gotten it to make the brown note yet though
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

I got a fender white on black, a jackson with hot pickups in it and I love plavin. Not to mention I got a good friend with a 12 pc. Drum set. Possible rock band? Pm me.
