I think they may have discontinued it which usually means you can get them cheaper. I can't say much for cd or sacd reproduction, but it does an excellent job on dvds. On my old onkyo player DVDs looked grainy on a HD screen, but with the oppo they look crystal clear. It's a great player and if you can get a deal on it now, jump on it.
