I'm currently using a Sound valves VTP-100 from Tom's. I am running it with a awesome Elan z-300/301 power amplifier Philips CDC-875 CD player, and Sony ss-tl5 speakers. Here is some pictures of my upgrade & the inside of the Elan. Here is a video also.

P.S Thanks tom.

I've had my eye on that one for awhile. Let me know how you like it.

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

This is a fantastic preamp. I have used it and compared it against two other preamps a AMC av-81htc-dd & a Mitsubishi DA-P30. Both are amazing preamps but the Sound valves is much more refined in the treble and has a decent amount of bass considering it is a tube preamp. I have not had a ton of time to try it out though I will try to get a better review later on.

Awesome sounding system.
15 years old. W.T.F.?
I had a Lloyds one piece system when I was that age, with a built in BSR turntable with a ceramic needle!
