Sunfire Signature 12" sub replacement
« on: October 03, 2012, 07:27:29 PM »
I have been unable to find original 12" HiVi replacements. Sunfire was no help.  So......  screw them, after some spec checking, found a nice JL 12 w3 to go in the cabinet.  It is a direct bolt up replacement and the sound is stunning. Very tight bass.
I am now gonna look for JL replacements for my true subs.

What series w7 is that? Kind of looks like a w6... which is still a formidable sub.
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

The w7 is in the fathom. You cas tell the difference in the fact that the surround goes all of the way to the edge... you see no screws from the front.

Which one?  They sell several different sizes, 8 through 13.5" and either one or two drivers.  They start at $2400 and go up to $12000.

The owner of the modded Signature called tonight to thank us for making his sub kick ass.  8) 8) 8) 8)It is superior to a stock unit.  JL driver and a bit of plate work can go a long way.

Tom

It's always nice when mods workout better than the original. Keep up the good work.
