« on: December 28, 2009, 08:09:38 PM »
How much power output does it take to get a Sunfire 300~2 to have to put out to get the meter lights to dim?

I don't know but I had both of mine dimming just now play some Laurie Mayer Black Lining. :o

Wow MAN!! You might want to have a engineer take a look at the strctural integrity of your home after tonight!!
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

I just got a pair of JL 13.5 W-7s today and hooked each one up to a Silver7-t monoblock, you want to talk about rocking the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We had to watch to move things back on the shelves before they fell off.  Those 36" beams in Cabin 12 next year WILL NOT have a speck of dust on them after the first night.

How big is the cabinet the JL's are in ?, and is it vented or sealed?  I was thinking of building one.
Thank you,
Mikey

If you go to JL`s website they have all kinds of info for building the subbox for each model of sub.

Mine came in a box that is two boxes in one, ported, and ment to fit in a suv.  They will be taken out and new boxes made (one for each) and put into my sterio system using one of my Lightstars using and active crossover that starts around 80 Hz going down to whatever I can find.  These damn things go so low you can see the speaker moving like crazy but you don`t hear a thing, but you feel your belly is moving inside.

I think ToyMaker said the sealed box for a 13.5 was only 1.75 cubic ft and for ported was about 2.23 cubic ft

I know you miss your Sunfire 300~2.  You can visit it at CF this year.  BTW, don't you have a Sunfire 400x5 and a set of Bob Carver custom KT88 tube amps?  Wow...with those amps that you have and you are missing the Sunfire 300~2.  Must be a good amp! 8)
