C-1 Phono 1 loading switch settings
« on: April 02, 2014, 06:48:34 PM »
Hey guys -- I'm trying to hone in my phono capabilities. Just cleaned up some 7 inches, readjusted the tracking force on the cartridge,  and have come to realize I never experimented with my C-1's Phono 1 loading switch.  My options are 0pf, 180pf, and 390pf.  I looked up my cartridge (ortophon om 5e)  and it says between 200-600pf.  So I am just looking for reassurance that the 390pf setting is my optimal choice?  I can defiantly tell 0pf sounds the worst, but not too much difference between 180pf and 390pf upon a quick listen?  What do you think? Cheers

I think you've got it.  Especially if it sounds good to you.

Whos old pre was this?  I bought it though BJ?  It has a Bob Carver signature on the top and I was told the one phono stage had been upgraded, but I believe it is the MC phono 2 section that I dont  utilize
