Deal of the Century,
« on: May 10, 2014, 06:04:25 PM »
I thought I would share this email thread I had with a guy on CL who was selling a vaunted Yamaha CA-1000. You might of remembered his original listing back in February, somehow he followed up with me yesterday.

I rearranged the thread from so it can be read from top to bottom:

Hey,

I had a funeral to attend, I still have the unite the woman never came back with the money. I was offered $7,000, I was asked if I had update information so I sent it away to Yamaha in which I'm having it serviced to make sure its working properly. If your still interested in the unite get back to me.

Thank you

Ok, read this thread you never agreed to my $5000 offer, you said you will "concider" it and that was back in February, then you email me tonight saying "what we agreed on i made you a promise"

My new offer is $50 take it or leave it, if you take it I will only do that when you provide me with the repair receipt from Yamaha showing what repair work they did and that in fact it was repaired by Yamaha.

I also will need to to hear it working so please set up a time I can come and listen to it.

it sounds like to me u dont have the money and i would hate to talk to u like a kid you cant see my face or my forhead fool was not written on it you cant be serious take it or leave it take that and put that as a down payment on a brand new YAMAHA 1000 STERO AMP IM SURE U WOULD HAVE A BETTER TIME instead of wasting mine

Here is my last reply to which I haven't heard back from him.

At the time I had the $5000 but I have a drinking problem and all I have left is $50, I wouldn't worry about it though. It definitely seems like you know exactly what you're doing and that you have a good grasp on reality, pricing wise, as you're practically giving away that "Yamaha 1000" at $5000. If I were you I would list it on ebay you'll probably get $10,000 or more. Thanks for concidering my offer and that is one fine unite you have.

Best of luck with the sale.

That guy is tormented by demons.  He probably doesn't even have the receiver.  He's phishing for a fool.
