An LP I got today
« on: October 17, 2014, 11:44:44 PM »
bought this this afternoon in a little resell shop for .50, the guy said I was his first sale all day. Thought the cover graphics were pretty cool, never heard of it. Contributing artists, Ohio Knox, Pearls Before Swine, T. Rex, Mother Earth, Doobie Bros, Ron Nagle, The Youngbloods, Faces, and Crazy Horse. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, condition of album looks decent.

Interesting. That T. Rex photo is actually from the Tyrannosaurs Rex era. It originally appeared in Blue Thumb catalog number BT-18 "A Beard of Stars" album.

Very cool record!

Keep an eye on CL. TT's pop up all the time. There aren't a lot of us up your way so you have that area pretty much to yourself!

Some of those USB tables will chew up a good record, I'd get a decent one and set it up right.

Finally decided to get my jvc TT out of storage, listened to about 75% of this album, think Garrison Keillor meets Cheech and Chong, the album cover is cooler than the the album. It did however motivate me to finally get out the TT, 8W, never did much on CL, but looked tonight, maybe I find some gold up here in the boonies.

Which JVC table do you have?   I love my QL-A7.   It's a real giant killer.

JL-F50, Shure Hi Track cartridge, bought new in 78, along with JVC JR-S30, receiver, JVC cassette deck, and a pair of Martin speakers, the receiver, cassette and speakers are currently stored in basement. Got everything in a stereo shop in Indiana. Started working for PPG after wasting a couple years at PSU, bought a Datsun 260Z, a stereo and a Kawasaki KZ1000. Wish I still had the Z.

Why would you buy a USB BPC when you had that in your closet?   If you don't want it anymore, let me know.

It was a gift, I wanted to convert some lps to digital, at the time I didn't know about the other options to connect a conventional TT to a PC.

They are probably plugging it into an line input, not knowing that you need a phono stage.   I'd bet there is nothing wrong with it at all.
