Yamaha CR-640 lights question

I have a Yamaha CR-640.  The four lights behind the radio dial do not light up.    I ordered replacement bulbs and thought I'd need to solder all of them.  When I removed top of receiver,  there is no visible wiring to the bulbs.  So I am thinking these just pop in and make contact thru the panel.  Picture is attached.

Sometimes those are twist in bulbs, & sometimes you need to solder...  You will need to remove the green color coverings & place them on the new bulbs...  We need a picture of the front (looking down on bulb) & a picture from the back of the circuit board...  Or at least I do!!!

its a little hard to see on the photo, but here is an orange wire and a blue wire attached to connectors on the panel, secured by a black tie wire that you can see between the upper green and middle green bulbs.   Last night I removed a bulb by simply twisting and pulling it from the panel.  So I am guessing there are built-in contacts that the lights will meet when inserted.

Make sure you are getting voltage to the bulbs as well.

The four green lights popped in and lit up.  Next I will find and replace any white lights and learn me some soldering.

Yes,  I ordered the Yamaha kit from Dave (dgwojo)  about six or eight months ago. (Yes, I admit I am that slow.   Had I known the green ones just popped in, I would have done them sooner.  Just delayed cause I thought I'd need some room to solder)   

I also have a Kenwood SA-300 that needs replacement bulbs.   I planned to try the Radio Shack in McKeesport but I did not bring them with me.  Does anyone know what sizes they are?  They are not the wedge lamp style,  they have metal bases with two stubs that twist into place.

Kenwood SA-300?  You mean Technics SA-300 don't you???

Mike, I gave Tom (OCCD) a used SA 300 a while back...  If you need any additional used parts, contact Tom...  He needed the volume control from the SA 300 to fix an SA 400, so that's taken!     The receiver had some channel issues that I did not want to deal with, but the bulbs were good!

Thanks, George.  I will have to check with Tom but I seldom find myself in that neck of the woods.  Might be easier to check at one of the remaining Radio Shacks....

Metal bases with two stubs is a bayonet type.  When viewed from the side, are the "stubs" on the same level, or is one side higher from the bottom than the other?  I have a number of these type bulbs, but need to know the answer to the stub height question and the voltage to know if any might be the correct type.

Thanks for the thought but I stopped at the Radio Shack on the way home from work and grabbed a couple pairs that worked fine.
