From my latest trip to Vintage HiFi..
« on: January 22, 2010, 11:45:24 PM »
Took a trip to North Hills today and got some new toys -

It is a Kenwood KR-11000GX
I know, the photography is awesome isn't it?  ::)
(the camera battery is about dead, and I'm too lazy to find the charger right now)

here is the current basement system (almost all from Vintage HiFi)-

Kenwood KR-11000GX Receiver
Sansui SP-2500 Speakers
Tascam CD-RW700 CD Recorder
Akai X-150D Reel to Reel
Sony MDS-JE510 Mini-Disc
audio-technica AT-PL120 Turntable
Roku SoundBridge digital streamer
Sansui RA-500 Reverb amp (for more inputs)

Of course, I had to rearrange and rewire everything to suit the Kenwood... It is a BIG unit.

Got another toy, but it will have to wait for tomorrow.
Sansui meets Carver. Film at 11.

Very Cool!!!! I gave a buddy of mine a pair of sp2500s. Nice sounding speakers. All you need is some King Crimson, a beer, and a puff ;). Welcome to the 70s :D. I love it!!!
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Thanks Guys,

I am really enjoying this thing. Looks and sounds like new.

My collection up to this point has been only late 60s and early 70s Sansui gear.
Trying to branch out and try some new stuff. Not at all sorry I did!

Nice system! I was looking at that Kenwood last week at the meeting. I really like its built in EQ and solid construction.
I have a pair of Sansui SP-2500 speakers that I'm selling to a friend. They were my first good pair of speakers and sadly, I just don't have room for them in my apartment.  I'll never forget the first time hooking them up to my Pioneer SA-9100, they rock!

Welcome to the Forum Sean!

The Kenwood looks fabulous!  I know that you have some real good sound coming out of that system.
