Back to vinyl
« on: January 28, 2010, 10:31:36 PM »
Well, thank's to Hal, I am doing the vinyl again. :D Hal sold me a great Pioneer PL-512x belt drive with a excellent Empire cartridge. And a large box of very good condition LP's. I am loving it :o
Thank you Hal. I forgot how good vinyl can sound, not to mention how cool album cover's can be :o
Also scored some other goodies while there. But, that is another story :D

Thank's Hal.

I'm a vinyl lover myself!! I'm keeping an eye out for a decent second TT for a bargain ;)....
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Made a deal with my dad today.  He was looking at buying a usb turntable and burn his records onto his computer.  He didn't have room for his vinyl anymore (500+).  I told him to make me a list of what he wants (he wasn't looking to get copies of everyone), i'd get him cd quality copies to put on his computer and he'd give me his collection.  You can't beat that.  8)

I have to admit.  I also have gotten the vinyl bug.  But I have to admit, the right disk on my 490t sounds pretty damn good!   It all has to do with the recording.  We got my daughter the Miley Cirus CD for Christmas, and man, what a shitty recording job.  The music is maxxed out to the hilt and distorts pretty bad.  Definetly not one to crank up.  If you do, you know what they say about shit when it hits the fan......

Man Cave: HR-772, Technics SL-P220, Polk Monitor 12 Series 2

Mike, I guess I just kind of had the whole vinyl thing "forced upon" me too. ;) My Father had this mint Technics Turntable stored, and basically just said.....Here You Go, Its Yours. ???

So, I guess I'm back in the mix as well Mike.---------BILL(BB3)
