Winter Wasteland
« on: February 06, 2010, 11:48:56 AM »
This is without a doubt one of the worst snowfalls in recent history here in Pittsburgh.
Roads are impassable, Power lines are down.
My lights are flickering as I type this, I'm concerned we may lose power soon too. :(

Now you know how it is up here for 8 months a year!! :o :o  That is a lot of snow if you aren't used to it.  Hope all of you get dug out soon.  Try not to exert yourself in the process of digging out.  Can happen without you knowing it!!  How is the temperature.  We usually get hit with a shitload of snow, then bitter cold immediately following.  Makes it real fun to try and spend any time outside clearing out.

West View Boro has left us to fend for ourselves.
No plows around here. We busted our backs to dig out the street.

Glad my tax dollars are working for me.   >:( >:( >:(

My twp did a good job of clearing the roads, but it took me all day just to dig my way to the end of the driveway anyhow.  My drive drifts really bad (it's about 3ft lower than the yard on either side) so of course it was almost up to my waist in most areas.

We also got lucky enough to have power today, but my wife's family in the south hills has no power, and when they called the power company about it they were told not to expect power until MONDAY AT 8AM!!

Crazy chit.

Did everyone hear about the people stuck on the turnpike for like 15 hrs?   Now THAT would suck.

Franklin Park and McCandless did a nice job on the snow removal. Bellevue screwed the pooch and power is out.

I just spun my way home... well almost. My truck (stuck in 2wd) is parked at the bottom of my road. I had to huff it the rest of the way :(
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.
