I've had no issues other than the shout box since I updated my shortcuts to www.vintagehifi.audio/index.php, no http.

I've had luck with adding https. Why not use a secure connection since it was added?

The shoutbox has been temporarily removed to get a baseline server usage profile. The shoutbox can add considerable load since it is constantly polling the server for updates.

It's deliberate.

You know, I often got annoyed when something that I felt was useful and should be part of the permanent record here was relegated to the shout box, but now that it's gone I miss it more than I thought I would.   Especially for CL links.

Al will turn it back on soon and see if it behaves.  If it starts sucking up CPU cycles again, the box may need to be shut down indefinitely. He can only allocate so much time to troubleshooting the forum widgets (a side effect of having a fulltime job).  But I agree,  miss the shoutbox, though not because of the Craigslist pointers since I am nowhere near PA.
