Someone seen your post here mentioning your find of these a few weeks back and are flipping them. Good speakers reduced to garage use unless you put a ton of effort into them or money on a re-veneer.
Yeah, somebody here said they were looking for a pair. but I didn't pull the grills in store and see the tweeters gone. That's way too much money for those in that condition. I passed on them simply because I didn't want to strip them down.
I didn't want to strip them down either, so listed them for half of what I sold my other pair for. They do have the tweeters and sound great. I have had a couple offers on them but no one has pulled the trigger yet.
I would guess the previous owner was that rare bird, a picky audiophile, and put cotton over the tweeter to make them less bright. But that's just a wild guess.
Well, if they don't sell, I can hook them up to one of my five tvs while watching some baseball.
