Hi Everyone!
I'm Pat and I'm from the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Pretty awesome to find this forum as it seems like a lot of you are local. Besides just talking about all kinds of audio stuff I'm hoping to learn more about repair/upgrade work and find someone local to help diagnose an amp project of mine that isn't working well.
Anyways... about me... my musical tastes are all over the map, I grew up with and still love 80s/90s alternative, I like 60s/70s classic rock, I like modern prog and jam, I like all things jazz, and pretty much everything in between. I've been a tech geek and music enthusiast all my life so naturally I've always wanted to have the most badass system possible, but I've always been on a tight budget... enter the world of DIY and buying used audio gear.
Current System:
Curt/Jim's Finalists speakers
(diy)
Zaph SR-71 speakers
(diy in progress)
Overnight Sensations speakers
(diy kit)
Dayton III speakers
(diy... my 1st... years ago)
Pass Amp Camp Amp
(diy kit)
PMillett Engineer's DCPP Amp
(diy... not working properly... need help diagnosing)
PMillett Starving Student Headphone Amp
(diy kit)
Class D Audio CDA-250
MHDT Constantine DAC
M2Tech HiFace USB to S/PDIF Converter
Nakamichi CDP-2a CD Player
Adcom GCD-575 CD Player
Monolithic Sound PS-2 Phono Preamplifier
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable
(only thing on this list purchased new)
Audio by Van Alstine Transcendence Six Preamplifier
SurgeX SX2120 Surge Supressor/Power Conditioner

Welcome. I am also in the South Hills. Looks like you have a fair amount of experience building kits.
