Blu Ray deck
« on: January 05, 2021, 03:35:27 PM »
We own maybe a dozen Blu Ray discs and one Sony BDP s-590. I think it's about 8 yrs old. I think it may have been about $80 and we bought it on the recommendation of the Best Buy guy who said it was the quickest starting deck they had outside of Magnolia. I use it with a Yamaha RX V681. Problem is I need to switch 4K mode and DTS mode on the receiver for it to work. Then if I go back to Apple TV I need to switch it again. Not a huge deal, but still a pain, especially for the wife or after I sit my ass down and have to get back up. I'm thinking of moving the Sony to another tv and replacing it with something newer. I don't need any smart functions, wifi, or 3D or 39 inputs for 8 dozen different SD card sizes, I want minimal features. Anyone have a good, reasonably priced deck that is maybe under $200?
