Scheduled for vaccine
« on: March 03, 2021, 10:39:58 AM »
Wife and I managed to snag a couple appointments down at AGH-Northside tommorow to get the Covid vaccine.
Expected things to open up more after J&J announcements and mass event at Heinz field.   Also this morning, my rowing partner got 2 appointments for his wife and him at an AGH drive thru set up in Grove City this afternoon.

My wife and I got our first one on 2/22... can't wait to get the second!  spent hours and hours on the computer with at least 6 or 7 windows open hitting refresh, refresh, refresh, refresh for hours and hours. Worth the effort. lol just glad i we don't live in TX ... what a total cluster that state is.
a bunch of nice sounding stuff. Nice that I'm finally able to actually listen to file music for the first time...

Got that right.   If a new variant takes off, it will be their fault.

Just got ours scheduled for next week at the Rite Aid in Glenshaw.  Have been trying for weeks to even get on a list.  Ultimately, it took a friend of a friend, with connections, to get an appointment (and we are clearly in group 1a).  The shot will be the first of two, not J&J

Everything went fine.  Went to AGH on Northside. Parked in slot reserved for vaccine folks. Followed the signs, got our shots ten minutes earlier than scheduled.   No side effects todsy apart from slight soreness in shoulder.

Glad you guys are able to get the shot and it seems, no bad side effects.

STaL, blows my mind you haven't been able to get one. Then again, logic and what not have been out the window the past year.

The part of the story I didn't mention is that our company had it's vaccine push in January while I was having my gallbladder out.   It's not like it was never offered to our employees, I was just otherwise occupied at the time.   First dose was literally the day of my surgery.   Go figure.

Even though we both were registered with quite a few health systems/pharmacies, we actually got a our appointment thru AGH due to my wife randomly checking websites during the morning.  I think you are likely to get scheduled sooner if you still hunt for appointments early in the day.  Since we got our shots, we did get a few emails to schedule appointments  from our other registrations but, at that point, we didn't need them.  Good luck!!!

Got our second shots yesterday.  No noticeable side effects apart from (cue some early Devo) an uncontrollable urge to shop on Amazon.  I guess the Pfizer vaccine comes with the Bezos microchip....

I got shot 1 of moderna last Tuesday. Everything was good for 48 hrs, then the bottom fell out. At 2pm that day it was like something hit me and zapped all my energy. Slept it off and have no other side effects since.
