another audiobum
« on: July 30, 2021, 02:49:56 PM »
Hi All,
I like stereos, mostly old stuff like Marantz, MacIntosh receivers, older and newer Polk Audio speakers, and sweet turntables. Also, I know some will laugh.. but I like graphic Equalizers and I have a Garrad EQ 360. The EQ is mostly for aesthetics.  I currently have a Marantz 2238B in Excellent to Mint condition, a Denon DP-300F a variety of speakers (which I keep changing), I'm looking for a new subwoofer, maybe a SVS SB series (not sure which size yet, probably a smaller 1 or 2000?). I am also trying to figure out if I want to build a new stand out of iron pipe and wood. That's what's up for now.

Welcome.   EQ serves a purpose and sometimes they have very cool displays on them.

Welcome! You got some nice stuff there. I've made two stands using 1/2" threaded rod. One was MDF with a veneer,  the newer rack I used oak flooring in a butcher block style. Pics are on the site here somewhere. Someday I may upgrade the 1/2" rod with 1" for a little more rigidity.
