My desk setup
« on: June 05, 2010, 11:09:55 PM »
My desk set up is a little 25 watt Radio Shack Accurian amplifier receiver that I Got From Carl  ;D ;D ;D, computer, and Yamaha NS-S1. The Accurian Amplifier is one that receives the signal from a sender. The sender sends the audio through outlets in your home but it can be modded to work without the sender. So I did that mod and took out the receiver board and it is a great little amp. I showed the board and the cable that I had to move. It is amazingly well built. I also showed a picture of the front to. It is a great sounding amp.
Please tell me what you think. I will take a pic of the Yamaha's and post in a reply.
Thank you Carl ;D ;D ;D

Mikey is getting some pretty serious skills !! He has a good foundation to becoming either a repair tech, or designer. Maybe a suitable replacement for Bob Carver, Nelson Pass, someone like that.
Then he can build amps for his Dad  ;D ;D ;D

Also this little desk top system sounds a lot better then expected.

Great stuff Mikey! It always is extra nice when you put some of your own work into your system!

Very nice Mikey!  You are quite welcome! ;D

Did you bypass the tone control board.  Some of the posts on DIY and AK claim an even better sound without the tone controls.  You may however, like the ability to tweak the tone.  I'm glad you like the amp and it's a great feeling for me to see that you are having fun.  Congrats on your project.

Regards,

Carl
