My system just got a whole lot better
« on: September 25, 2010, 09:22:28 PM »
I just acquired some new equipment over the last few days. I acquired a fantastic sounding Philips DFA-980. It is a beautiful 100 wpc integrated amplifier. It sounds fantastic and has built in D to A converters. It is a fantastic and beautiful piece. Also, I got a pair of JBL Studio 4410 speakers. They are fantastic. I also got a Marantz cc-65se CD Player that sounds fantastic. I also got a Philips DVD-751 DVD Player. It is also good as a CD Player I also got a Yamaha DVD-C920 DVD player. It is a fantastic CD Player also. I am also using a Technics SL-PD807 CD Player. Here are some pictures. please tell me what you think. first picture is the Philips DFA-980 and the Yamaha DVD-C920. Second picture is of the JBL speakers. Last is of the Marantz, philips and technics CD Players not in that order.

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

O.K I will takes some pictures of the inside with in the next couple of days. It is hard for me to lift even on my strongest days. I would like to think it ways about 37 lbs. I will try to get the pictures tonight but I am not going to guarantee anything.

Yeah. I'd say 40-50 pounds sounds about right. I was shocked the first time I held one of those monsters.

How does it all sound?

It sounds fantastic and is a beaut. I am not sure if you are thinking of mine or not. Are you sure you are not thinking of the DFA-1000.
