While I was in Chattanooga we went to a place called McKay's. It's like a Sam's Club version of Half Price Books with the clientele who couldn't get in Walmart. Anyhow, I found a 74 pressing of Jr Walker's Shotgun - SEALED. $6.95. I usually have horrible luck buying old sealed records, most are warped. This one is one of the best sounding records I own. Judging by the price of other LPs there, someone made a big booboo pricing this one.

I'll give you $10.50 for that Jr.Walker album. That's cash in your pocket with a generous 50% markup!

Chicago 3 LP

On a newly acquired Technics SL-1700. It just arrived today. Speed wouldn't lock in until I turned the variable speed pot back & forth several times. Still touchy though. I guess it needs DeOxit. At least I hope that's all it is. So far just using the Shure M995ED with a generic stylus that it came with. Eventually I'll mount my Grado Gold 1 on it. I may use the M995ED for records from thrifts etc. I have a spare headshell

HA! Given the shape of most Jr records I've found this one ain't going anywhere. My house is a retirement village for records, they come here to live a life of leisure.

Harry James & His Orchestra
"The Music Of Your Life"

Not the greatest recording but Harry James kicks ass.

Mongo, I love Al Hirt. He was one of my early influences on the trumpet. He doesn't just play Dixieland by the way. He has done some great classical recordings.

Jethro Tull
"Thick As A Brick"

LP. The album jacket is the coolest one I ever saw. It's like reading a newspaper.

King Crimson
"In The Court Of The Crimson King"

LP from 1969

Still one of my all time favorite albums. I'm not a drummer, but to my ear the drums are incredible an unique. What an amazing collection of musicians!

The Lettermen
Goin' Out Of My Head

Original LP from back in the day

Among others my wife & I saw The Lettermen many years ago at The Holiday House. A buddy of mine, Randy Purcell (RIP) was the music contractor there and ran the band. A few of the musicians were my band/orchestra directors in school.
