My HTPC System
« on: December 03, 2009, 11:21:57 PM »
Sony XBR970 34” HDTV
JBL E30 mains
JBL EC25 center
JBL E10 rears
2 JBL E150p subs
Yamaha receiver

The receiver is a lower end unit hope to replace someday. I didn’t really want 2 subs but I couldn’t find a set of speaker stands I liked so I bought a 2nd matching sub to put the mains on top and keep a balanced appearance.

The HTPC is an old Dell P4 with upgraded video and soundcards. It’s got 2 gigs ram so even though it’s older it still works great; it’s networked with my main PC. It stutters when playing blu-ray rips so I hope to upgrade it soon.

I have a networked drive with nearly 6000 CD’s and a large collection of SCI-FI TV series ripped from DVD’s. I’m not much for collecting movies.
All together I got about 3 terabytes worth of media.

I like it that you could not find speakers stands so you just bought another sub.  That cracks me up.  That is exactly something I would do. ;D

Looks nice...
How does it sound?
I love the picture quality of the crt HD sets.
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

I just ordered a Spiffy new Intel Core i5 2.6ghz 6GB Ram system
Its got hdmi out on it and is BluRay capable.

I am considering adding a few Hdd's to it and
hooking it up to my HT.

I don't have alot of rips, mostly everything is on burned DVD's
so I'll be busy ripping for a while :)
