Consolidation sale
« on: January 07, 2011, 09:45:22 PM »
I haven't been listening to the basement stereo as much as I used to (like not at all), so I figured I would consolidate to one system and use the dough to build up my DJ/KJ system. The prices aren't for those wanting to resell, but they are fair and firm.

-Bryston 3b- not mint, works perfectly. $300
-Acurus A200- some moron repainted it and put mailbox lettering to spell acurus. The inside looks spotless and it is a dead silent sleeper. $250
-Denon DCD1520- Looks good, sounds great. The drawer doesn't always close all the way... just needs a nudge. $100
-B&K AVP2000- great sounding silent dual zone pre with 2 sets of pre outs per channel. With remote. $300
-Audio Research LS9- has a VERY slight pop when going from mute to operate. New caps from Tom (OCCD). He also put in things so the       op-amps can be swapped. I know I don't know the details, so if you are interested, you are better off talking to him. Remote capable (I use a logitec harmony 600). $600
-B&W DM640- Look and sound great $500
-McIntosh XR16- Look and sound spectacular $600
-Technics SL-d202- $30

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Ed, you are selling your Mc speakers.  :o :o
Are you selling out everything?  If I can scrape up the cash, I would like to check out the Acurus.

I'm not selling everything. I'm pretty much keeping one of everything. Whatever doesn't sell I will use for my main LR system.

How are the cosmetics on the Denon 1520?  That is a great player for that price, someone should snag that before I do.

Keeping the macs and the bryston. That leaves the Denon and the B&Ws. I'm lowering the price on the B&Ws to $450 which is a steal. I bought them for $600 about 6 months ago.

Probably not. I know it's a great price already. I figure if nobody wants it, I'll just hang onto it. I'll find a use for it eventually.

Better than plant on electronics, right? We're extremely careful with the plants on or near equipment. Deep plastic water catches and steady hands = no water stains.
