Also has a high quality phono input. No Controller. Can also be used as a DAC. The sound is very clean. The flexibility is unbelievable and the sound is as big or small as you would like it to be. You can literally do what ever you want sonic wise with this piece and not even scratch the surface of it's capability. The sound output/quality appeared to be unaffected. Live sounding with lots of space between the instruments would be a good description of what you can do with this preamplifier. It can push difficult amps with out distortion or lack of gain and it is totaly clean all the way up. The image is dead center at the flat setting and all sound stages were well focused.You can move the soundstage according to your seating position. This is clearly a versatile preamp.
