T/S parameter measuring device
« on: August 08, 2011, 09:38:58 PM »
Do any of you guys have a T/S measurement device like http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=390-804 or similar?   I found some old speakers that I think I would like to build new boxes for, but would like to calculate the box size correctly.   Thanks.

Interesting device.  It only weighs 1 lb.  I suspect it come with some software?  What are you trying to test?

regards,
Carl

I want to test the woofer from an old Voice of Music shallow box (wall mount) system.   I don't know if the box was designed to meet the woofers T/S specs or just designed to hit a niche market.

I assume you are talking about the Thiel/Smal speaker driver parameters.
I used to have a computer program for this.

Thanks Anders.   That program is for calculating the box volume once you have the Thiel/Small parameters (usually given with the driver specs).   The software I need (I believe it requires hardware and software, I found one that required a frequency counter and sine generator) is to actually determine the T/S parameters for an unknown driver.
