Remington under Fire: CNBC reports on alleged defects in the Model 700 rifle

At first blush, this is a rather disturbing report from CNBC about one of the most popular rifles in American history.
But if you think about it more, CNBC's allegations seem to unravel.

Is this responsible journalism, or an attempt by the media to smear an icon and in some ways attack our civil rights?
Have any of you heard about this  before, or seen this report? What are your thoughts?
