Alt Country!!and Damien Jurado
« on: April 16, 2012, 05:22:28 PM »
I love me some Alt. Country.  ;D
I wanted to share a favorite new band that I discovered just a few weeks ago.
I can't get enough of this band!! The Cave Singers are touring off their new wonderful album, No Witch. (of course no Pittsburgh) I guess I will venture to Phila. or Ohio to see them eventually.lol...
Check them out on Spotify. Their other two albums are equally OUTSTANDING!! Pick either Welcome Joy from 2007 or Invitation Songs from 2007.
All three of the Caves Singers albums have blown me away.
Here is a couple of songs to sample.
I love this song and video. "Dancing on Our Graves"
The Cave Singers - "Dancing On Our Graves"
and another song called "Haller Lake"
The Cave Singers - Haller Lake

Damien Jurado has a new album called Maraqopa that is FREAKIN Earth shattering!! This is my album of the year so far.
Damien will be playing in town at the Warhol Musuem on May 17th!!!
Working Titles - Maraqopa - Damien Jurado
Anyone care to share any new finds or favorite albums of late?
Todd

Sorry you missed the show Mark.
Damien played pretty much the entire Maraqopa album which sounded even better in concert with extended jams that were puposeful and powerful.
Maraqopa is a concept album of a dream Damien had. If you can the album should be played in its entirety. I think all the songs really hold up on their own as well, but they really flow into a cohesive oneness when played from beginning to end.
Damien sounded fantastic, his voice was strong and very interesting. The band was equally very talented!
Man, I wish my dreams could turn into fantastic album that is Grammy worthy.
A true treat to see him live!!
Please check out the youtube videos and check back to this thread if you are moved and entertained with these fantastic songs.
All his music is available on Spotify as well.
Enjoy the Music!!
Todd

I love her music. I have not heard her new effort, but would like to as it was produced by
The guy from Bon Iver , which is a favorite band of mine. Micron the signature! I love it when you get to meet and greet the artists. Glad you enjoyed the show.
