Hi-Fi Fry?
« on: May 01, 2012, 03:46:30 PM »
I'm kind of tossing around the idea of having a little gathering with the forum geeks for some food, beer, and tunes the first weekend of June... Preferably the first Sunday, so Tommy's shop obligations are nonexistent. First things first, I need some feedback to know if folks like the idea or not, and if they would want to join in. Nothing worse than buying food and beer for 20 and having 5 show up.
So what do you say?

Here's a pic of the outside sound set-up to set the mood...

Greetings Ed!

What a nice gesture!! I am interested.  I would need to confirm with my wife to see if the collective "we" have plans.  I can give you a solid confirmation in a couple of weeks.  Thanks for the initiative!

Hey Ed,

I'd be interested too.  When you firm up the date, post it here.

I'd be in too but would have to check on that date.  I'm supposed to go to the shore for a bachelor party that weekend or the next.  I should know in a week or two.

Thanks guys for the interest!! Date is very tentative. It's all about the audio geeks, so if we can come together on a good date for a Sunday, I'd love to host something. Right now I'm thinking the 3rd.

I think I'd like to come.
But If you plan for later in the month you may come dangerously close to my birthday.

Ed, Thanks...  We ARE neighbors!!!  I'm in Penn Hills also, near Churchill Valley CC...  I usually go visit my mom on Sundays, but given enough notice, I may be able to revise/change plans...

Ok, it looks like enough people are interested for me to solidify the date... June 3rd. As far as anybody bringing anything, it's welcome, but not necessary. I'll probably be grilling the back yard bbq staples... burgers, dogs, and chicken. I'll probably get corn, and maybe some clams for the grill as well. I'll have a few cases of beer, pop, and water on ice... but no mixers, so if you are a booze or wine drinker, you may want to make a stop at the liquor store on your way.
I might clear up the kid's play room for a demo room if anybody has gear they would like to bring and show off.

That's all I've got for now.

Ed
