Peeling paint makes it look abandoned.

I thought it was abandoned myself until we got closer and saw the equipment in the window and a sign on the door stating they were closed for the holidays. :o

I took another look, you're probably right.  I just thought the place looked like a blighted pawn shop.  You know, the type where rings still have fingers on them.   :o

I used to frequent that place while I lived in Erie. The owner and his wife are bat sh*t crazy, but they always had some interesting stuff for sale. Their repair work was a little questionable, though. I know my dad had his Hafler 500 there 3 times before sending it to Hafler for repair. All it was was a faulty thermal protector...
Anyway, the place is worth checking out for cool gear or a memorable conversation.

Where in Erie exactly is it? How long has it been there Ed? Don't remember it from the 80's. Don't remember much from the 80's actually...

On Rt 20 between Saltsman and Nagle roads.
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.
