Magnetic Levitation Shelf
« on: December 22, 2009, 10:08:01 PM »
Has anyone used these type of shelves?
I could see the benefit for a CD or more so for a TT, but what about other gear?

Obviously, the marketing jargon pitches it for everything and claims it can handle 30-40 lbs.

At $500 Is it really worth it?

If I spend 500 on a shelf to hold a single component I beg any of you to snap me back to reality with the baseball bat of your choice.
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

OCCD or in your case OACD has no cure and we only encourage it.
Got Carver?

Sure, but isn't this going a little too far?

I can see spending dough on equipment, but this just seems
like an expensive doodad.

Btw,
O*CD = Obsessive <Manufacturer> Collecting Disorder

i.e. OCCD = Obsessive Carver Collecting Disorder

I thought they went to far when they invented the inflatable air pillow between the shelves, This is just wacked out $500.00, I will just get some super magnets from parts express and build my own :o
