speaker refoam who's good locally?
« on: August 19, 2013, 10:16:27 AM »
I have a pair of DQ-20s that need new surrounds on the woofers. I thought I'd try having them refoamed before I invest in the rebuild ($400) from Dahlquist ..
I tried doing this myself once before without success (not hhese speakers)... is there anyone locally that has a history of doing a good job? that you trust?

Jim

I've seen quite a few of those come through the shop for repair.
HT: Audiocontrol Maestro M3, Sunfire 5*200,  Tannoy Mercury MX , SVS PB-12 Sub

Head-Fi: FUBAR IV Plus DAC, Grado SR225

Living Room: Dynaco ST-70 (R&R work done by NATOE), Dynaco PAS Preamp, Jamo C607 towers, MCS 6710 Turntable

I'd definitely take them to Vintage Hi-Fi.

As previously mentioned, there have been quite a few sets of DQs in there over the past year or two.

Are the repair hours the same as the shop hours? Any chance someone would be there to accept the woofers very early Wednesday afternoon?

I could run by and accept them, but I can't promise that they will ever get them to Tom. >:D
