VMPS Super Towers II, ones like Tom's
« on: September 03, 2013, 02:58:54 PM »
I have a friend that has a pair of VMPS STII, These are the 14 driver with ribbon tweeter speakers.  Just like the ones in Tom's shop.  He says the cabinets are in excellent condition, but some of the woofers need re-foaming, including the passives (the hardest ones to get to).  He is looking for $700, he bought them new right here locally at Stereo Land in Natrona Hts (for about $4800 in the early 90s).  Delivery is possible.  Let me know, this is just a feeler.  Thanks for looking.  Nick

You mean "Just like the ones that were in Tom's Shop."

As of Saturday night they are now fire wood and spare parts. RIP

Very sad day.  I just heard last night the VHF VMPS were gone.  I really wanted to hear those speakers.
Got Carver?

wow - unexpected that tom would part them out.  I guess the space was needed.  and the parts sell well.  but yes,  I kept hoping one day I would walk in the shop and they would be finished and singing.  May their soul rest in peace.
