Sangean HDT-1 Tuner
« on: January 05, 2010, 08:57:31 AM »
Sorry for the stock photo, my camera is acting wacky.  I picked up one of these units this past weekend off of CL, a woman got it for xmas and didn't have room for it so she sold it to me for 1/2 price.  Awesome tuner, HD radio is amazing.  I never realized that a lot of stations have more then one station.  DUQ I think has 5 stations on HD.  Very cool nice large blue display, changeable to view station info, signal strength or bar equalizer.  Pulls in stations better then any tuner I've ever had.  I definitely recommend checking one of these out.

Good to hear someone talk about this.  I've been thinking about switching to one of those units when I finally switch over to a totally separates system.  (Just have to talk Tom into letting me "borrow" his C-19 for a while!!! :P :P :P

Very nice. I wonder how it compares to the Sony? Sangean certainly looks better.

I don't know about the Sangean, but the Sony is a HAMMER!. Mine is Punker X modified and bests most new and vintage tuners out there. Hard to beat the bang for the buck.

I looked at the Sony and was going to buy one, it is $50 cheaper then the Sangean, but this one fell in my lap.  The only thing I didn't like about the Sony is it's only 7" wide where as the Sangean is component size.
