Sub Woofer Project

I am building 2 cylindrical subwoofers and need to cut out the end caps. Anybody know a good source for 1" MDF or HDF particle board?

Here are a few pictures.

The cylindrical cabinet is 15" in diameter and 14" tall without the feet/spikes.

I still have to install the driver, add input terminals, add feet, stuffing, spikes, etc. The Fs of the system should be ~25Hz.

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

I am using an ICE based Class "D" amp with a Behringer DCX2496 crossover to drive them.

I haven't decided yet. The wood veneer is birch. Do you have any recommendations? I have used water based polyurethane in the past.

Here is an empty enclosure on top of the circular base. The finished units will have three 3" X 1.25" dowel rods holding the enclosure up from the base instead of the three 4" drivers I used to take the picture.

I still haven't decided how to finish them. My wife say "make them black".
