Cameradio Pittsburgh?
« on: January 12, 2010, 05:59:15 PM »
Does anybody have any information on Cameradio. I have a few of there catalogs, one from 1960 the other from 72, It seems like they carried a lot of the top of the line equipment of its day. Its kinda crazy looking at there listing of a McIntosh MC-60 for $198, then again, that was a lot of money in 1960.

I used to work there in the 70's! In the mid 70's Cameradio was bought by RPC (Radio Parts Company) and became CAM RPC which is still in the electronics distribution business. What would you like to know?

Hi Ron
I guess I just wanted to know what happened to them. Thanks for explaining.
I work at a bookstore that deals with used books and someone brought these catalogs in along with a bunch of other stuff to sell. I thought the place looked interesting. My new avatar is from the catalog :D

That's unbelievable Eric. That had to have been a neat looking place.......

Shame things have to change, and sometimes not for the better in our area, especially on the Audio Front.

Thank God For Tom And His Store. :)-----BILL
