My C-5 has holography also

I have a C-9 in the house but I have never tried it in the system.  My Polk SDAs were great at imaging.  The Polks are out on loan and I have the Legacys singing beautifully.  So, I might give the C-9 a try.

One thing about the holography is it limits the ideal sitting position quite a bit.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and hijack this thread

I've always been one to use surrounds to expand the soundstage either through a surround processor or a hafler circuit. I finally cut the surround cord when my recent aquision arrived. Polk SDA-2B's

F1nut, will chime in I'm sure, but my new interpretation of holography was discovered purely by accident.

Due to my pad being one step up from "a van by the river", I can't keep old gear, due to space limitations.

So, the Sony TL-6 transmission lines had to go. I had a buyer in line so I hooked them up on either side of my listening chair, canted them in about 20 Degrees,  All was good. They sounded nice, until I sat between them. I was amazed, no, Blown away!, at just how good they sounded.  What impressed me more, was the headphone/holographic effect they produced. The soundstage was limitless and for the first time, they sounded "free".  But they were behind me...

I then tried running both my polks and sony's at the same time and poof. there went the soundstage from the fronts and the rears.  I then realized, my rears were hooked up for an audition across the room. Right was right and left, left.  Since i was facing forward, right was left and visa-versa. so a few wire nuts and 5 mins of my time, I reversed the wires so when facing my mains, the left rear channel was now coming from my left rear speaker.

I powered my amps and had a listen.

I suggest you try this.  It's very impressive and no loss of original stereo signal

It's very rare at this level, major improvements can be had without spending serious cash.  This one was free.

You don't want to use a C-9 with those Polks. The interconnect cable between them gives a similar effect thus you would essentially be cancelling out the effect of both and end up with probably a very flat response.
