Just a heads up, I think with the Sunfire pre, you either get the remote OR the phono.  I'm not positive, but I think that's the case.  I believe someone here might be trying to sell one though, so you may be in luck.

I think the Sunfire is the rarer and better sounding of the two.  If you can get it with the phono option I hear that it is really good.

I have been to C-19-land and not planning a return trip. Would take a modded (BillD Mod) C-1 first...

These is one on eBay for 1300.00. No MC phono option or remote. That's just too much money they are asking for it.

I spent a year or so lusting for the Sunfire w phono.  The bargain price for that unit seems to be around 800 bucks,  but I did not see one at that price and eventually moved on.  Most sell for $1000+.    A combo consisting of the pre Kingman has (Sunfire tube w phono and remote) plus a Sunfire 600x2 would be very cool.

No...  I've seen so much Carver/Sunfire gear in the past few years that it all bleeds together.  Is that what you're running?  I remember you having a Sunfire pre.

Even though by no means the ultimate set up, it is very respectable. I have only heard  one system better.

I have had a modded C-19 and a Sunfire Tube Pre w/ remote and phono. The C-19 sounded better with my Martin Logan speakers. The Sunfire sounded better with the CRM speakers. I think they are both fine but there are better things to be had in the 1200ish range.

In my opinion the Lightstar direct sounds great when coupled to the reference amp.
