this score could convert me. I was first to answer a Freecycle listing for "old jazz records". I think the fact that he was in Duquesne may have scared some people off. It took two weeks to hook up, but when I got to the guy's house, he presented me with a booklet listing title, label, cat no, and price for each record. Only the price column had entries in just the first few lines. He explained that he was going to sell them years ago, but found the task too daunting. There were 16 boxes, each with 10-12 records in them.
I got home and started cracking them open. Ten boxes of keepers, six to SVDeP. One box of rock, soul stuff that I'm pretty excited about (NM Al Green on Hi, still in shrink), but the star of the show is jazz, mostly in really good condition.
Several DG Bill Evans Trio on Riverside, several 6 eye Miles, tons of Verve and Blue Note albums. I've got a lot of listening to do!
