Capacitor physical size

Does the physical size of a capacitor make a different in the function/operation of the capacitor?

As I remember, the bigger size capacitors from same manufacturer have the better ripple-current in most cases. However, it depends of specific vendor/series etc.

I presume we are talking apples to apples here, as in cap types.   If you are comparing non-polar electrolytic, polyprop, or film and foil by size there are other more important factors to consider.

The values are the same for each capacitor but the size is smaller.  I am upgrading a 1970

Values are not the same as types.
