Digital Tuner Alignment

Is anyone here skilled in this black art, or know someone who may be? I have an Onkyo T-450RDS laying around that I'd love to get up and running. I'm 99% sure it needs aligned. Lower quality devices seem to do a better job in the same area of the basement.

Tuner alignment is a voodoo.  Without specialized gear it difficult to do.  Describe your symptoms
and we might be able to guide you a bit more.  Its funny you bring this up now as I have a Kenwood kt-880d which has issues as well.  Locks on in mono only and always locks below the actual station
frequency.  I googled several ways to approach the alignment but you need special rf signal generators
etc.
