Back in the USA
« on: August 27, 2010, 11:19:12 PM »
I got home tonight after spending nearly two weeks in London and Paris.  I went on vacation for two weeks.  I left my laptop at home, shunned my Blackberry to get away from work.  We visited my wife's father in London.  Did all the tourist things, the Eye, Tower of London, cruise on the Thames and then did something really cool.  A private tour of the various Harry Potter filming locations in London and Oxford.

We jumped on the Eurostar (high speed electric train) in London, traveled underneath the English Channel via "The Chunnel".  London to Paris in about 2 1/2 hours.  Spend a couple days there.  Did all the tourist things Arc of Triump, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysee, Notre Dame and a cruise on the Seinne River.  All good fun!  Maybe some pictures later!

I could not log onto the Vintage HiFi of Pittsburgh Forum from overseas from my in-laws computer.  I got a message saying too much spam from the IP address.  No biggie!

Rock on wit yo' bad self!

Carl

What did I miss?

Vacations.... I'm listening to syncronicity
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Hey guys!  No time to visit any audio stores.  Time was at a premium.  My best chance to score some tubes came in July when I was in Prague.  However, I spent two days in meetings, one day for sight seeing and the language is a big issue in the Czech Republic.  Besides, I'm there to buy nuclear components manufactured for nuclear power plants.  Some of these companies were part of the old Soviet weapons program.  I don't like to draw any attention to myself. :-X

I saw a tee shirt in Prague that siad "good girls go to heaven, bad girls go to Prague".  There are some smokin hot young women there :-*

I hope so too Al!  I miss all you guys.  Right now, I've been up for 24 hours because of traveling, etc.  I'm a little wired but I know I will crash hard real soon.  Tomorrow may be a total wipe out for me!

Welcome back Carl. Any cool pics to share?

Here's one as I am on my way to Hogwarts (school for wizards).  It was taken on the filming location for several Harry Potter movies,  Anyone recognize the scene?
