WTB cartridge
« on: September 24, 2010, 02:57:17 PM »
I am looking for a good MM or decent MC cartridge in the sub $200 range. Let me know what you have. It's going to be mounted on a Technics SL 1200 which has a pretty heavy s shaped arm. Also... I would really like the cart to be a light tracker (1-1.5g).

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

From what I've read about the F1+ cartridge, it's about the same as the current grado silver cartridge. Some people love them some people aren't too impressed. Does anyone have any first hand experience with it and advice for me?

An Ortofon 2M RED runs $99 and punches way above its weight class for the money.

Grabbed the grado from rgpit... I'll leave the thread open in case anyone has advice for someone else in my boat.
