No luck moving the car without chewing up the lawn more so they got road assistance from GEICO and pulled out the vehicle.

Since it's his birthday, I pulled out and have just finished listening to "Go down, Old Hannah" by Leadbelly (Rounder CD 1099).  Next up,  Jazz in Silhouette " by that outer space creature, Sun Ra.

Never had any of his music but remember him being featured in Guitar Player magazine back when I thought subscribing to these magazines and reading more articles would improve my guitar playing!!!

I didn't know you played.

I still haven't given up the dream that I can still be an illiterate blind guitar picker from the some plantation in the delta....

I rarely post here.  I am thoroughly enjoying Beck Morning Phase on vinyl 180 gram (bought from Crate & Barrel).  Easily the best sounding vinyl album I have heard on my system.  Apparently it won Grammys for best rock album and engineering (non classical) well deserved, even though I have no idea what its competition was.  It's these surprises that make me remember why I build such elaborate monstrosities.

I just picked up Italian copies of Unhalfbricking and Liege & Lief from eBay.   They were cheap and said to be NM.   I knew nothing about Italian vinyl, and felt dubious of the grade, but at $6 each for records that when clean go north of $30 each (well north in some cases) I thought I'd take the risk.   They sound great.   Very pleased.

Blowing the cobwebs out, Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Child box on Quiex SV-P 200g. Got this off a Discogs seller for super cheap awhile back. Very well done.

I think I have that Marcia Ball on CD but can't think where it possibly can be.  And that's probably not the first time that phrase has passed through the awareness filter.

Anyway, currently listening to a copy of the "Run, Angel, Run" soundtrack , an LP I picked up while  vacationing on Ocracoke last fall.   Good Hollywood production (but no credits) and Tammy Wynette,  what's not to like?  I' m guessing crack players, like Tommy Tedesco, on guitar.

Next up, "Side by Siide" Duke Ellington & Johnny Hodges LP on Verve (probably first pressing). In glorious mono.  Like the label says," A Panoramic True High Fidelity Record."

I'll be reaching for this one on a regular basis.....
