Soul Asylum - Grave Dancers Union (I picked up the MOV vinyl issue)

There will be more posts than usual from me in this section as I recover from surgery and can't do much but spin vinyl (not such a bad thing over all.)

Hope you make a complete and rapid recovery.  (Not that I don't enjoy reading the increased postings)

Thanks guys.   I feel a little better each day and expect a full recovery.   I just struggle with sitting still, I'm kinda ADHD.

Sorry to hear about your surgery Mark.  Prayers for your continued healing!

It was only a laparoscopic gallbladder removal.   I went to the surgeon thinking I was setting something up for the spring but she said it was affecting my pancreas and wouldn't wait.   It had waited for two years, but I guess it was time.   I am enjoying the down time honestly.

My wife had that done a few yrs back. You'll be much happier once healed.

Currently listening to a like new copy of "Brewing up with Billy Bragg", purchased at Jim's way back.  Must be an import as the album cover is very flimsy.
And enjoying some freshly ground and brewed Ethiopian coffee.

Catching up on some vinyl that has been sitting here unopened for awhile...

Best of the Gipsy Kings is spinnin now, Tyler Childers Long Violent History earlier.

In the queue:
Sturgill Simpson - Cuttin Grass vol 1
Allman Brothers - Fillmore West '71
Warrant - Greatest and Latest (laugh all you want, I DID have a mullet in the late 80's/early 90's...also it was the kicker for free shipping)

Listening upstairs in the clean air, just shuffled some equipment around to shake things up.
NAD 7100, Dual 721, AT OC9/III, JBL 4311b monitors

I played the Sturg yesterday.   Good stuff.   ATM I am playing a Japan pressing of The Wild Heart by Stevie Nicks.   Will be following it with Tom Petty Best of Everything.

Currently listening to Shirley Horn  "I remember Miles" CD, one of the hundreds of Verve CDs I have been preparing for sale over on the Hoffman forum.  This one won a Grammy in the late 90s.  I have been listening to a lot of jazz vocalists singing standards and learning the lyrics to all these tunes from the "American Songbook".  It has made it easier to remember the melody to the tunes while picking along on guitar.     Plus, there are so many great stories in the songs.

Stay warm out there!!

Warrant - Greatest and Latest (laugh all you want, I DID have a mullet in the late 80's/early 90's...also it was the kicker for free shipping)

Anyone want a gently used Warrant record??? Worst vinyl purchase I've made by a country mile. Sometimes you should look closer before buying. As I'm listening I'm thinking this is NOT the Warrant I recall. I wasn't a big fan, didn't own any of their music in any format. This is from Discogs:

Greatest & Latest is a music album by American rock band Warrant originally released in 1999. The album features new recorded studio versions of their (greatest) material. It also features three previously unreleased (latest) songs "The Jones", "Southern Comfort", and "Bad Tattoo".

The album was re released twice in 2004 under new titles "'Cherry Pie all the Hitz 'n' More" and the import version "Most Wanted" with slightly different track lists to the original.

The album features new versions of Warrant's biggest hit singles Heaven which peaked at number 2 on The Billboard Hot 100 and Cherry Pie which peaked at #10.[2] The re-recorded "Heaven" and "Cherry Pie" were released as promo and later iTunes singles[3] and were also released on several mixed compilation albums. In 2004 Jani Lane re-recorded acoustic versions of "Cherry Pie" and "Heaven" which featured on the "VH1 Classic Metal Mania: Stripped" compilations.

"Heaven" was also used in Tool Academy's series finale, and was covered by American punk band New Found Glory on the compilation album Punk Goes Metal.
