The acute accents in the name must have confused the forum software. Regardless, I watched The Buena Vista Social Club last night. Been a long time since I saw it last, got on youtube this morning digging deeper into some of the artists.

I've been sorting through a dozen years of vinyl purchases, separating keepers from flippers.   I had four copies of Hotel California and I just cleaned the best looking one. Sterling and Specialty both sides and it is literally just like new. Even Wasted Time, with it's very quiet passages is absolutely perfect. We all love our MFSLs and Tone Poets, but it's just amazing how great a non-descript buck bin piece of vinyl can sound. Who needs audiophile?

I have a good original copy of Hotel California but I have a DCC re-issue of greatest hits.
I love my direct to disc records. They are so dynamic. Very few CDs are as dynamic.

Right now, I'm listening and watching Jorma live from the Fur Peace Ranch on Youtube.  The latest of almost a years worth of live broadcasts every Saturday night at 8PM.   Check it out if you like acoustic blues....

And speaking of vinyl,  while en route to Burgatory Murrysville to procure dinner Friday night,  I stopped by STal's lGoodwill and stumbled across a near-mint 3LP Concert for Bangla-Desh.  Not a mark on any of the six sides or the booklet.    It must have been put out near the end of the day as it was on the shelf in plain view, and traffic must have been very light due to the cold weather. 

And it gets better......it was only .49 due to an unknown-to-me 50% off promotion (which I though was only at the Penn Hills store.   Either way,  I didn't question the price!)

Rodi Road?   I've never seen a decent slab of vinyl there.   That's a score.

This album is really enjoyable with a sort of 70s "yacht rock" vibe.   Everybody focuses on the pretty redhead in front, but as usual the bassist Bridget is the one really driving the band.   She is spectacular!
