Power is still out.  I'm going to be sad when my phone dies.

Trees were down all over the Murrysville area.   One came down on her house and two fell on her neighbors house.

 Hope power gets restored soon

Yeah,  but I can't watch the space heater from the car.

I had just put the boy to bed, was heading downstairs to listen to some records...poof...lights out.

Earlier in the day the neighbor’s tree came down, took out about 30’ of his fence and a portion of my shed roof.

His insurance will cover his fence and $500 towards tree cleanup, and ZERO for my damage. The tree alone is going to be at least $1000 to cleanup and another 12-1500 to remove the part still standing. At least the power is back on, Fios is still out.

Very sorry to read. Had a monster size tree go down from a microburst a few years ago that damaged my neighbors shed. My insurance company paid without question or hesitation. I really don't think you're not getting the whole story, time to get an attorney or a read through his policy. You should not be responsible for any $$$ unless the tree is on your property.
a bunch of nice sounding stuff. Nice that I'm finally able to actually listen to file music for the first time...

What Jim said.   I'm no insurance expert but I know with auto (for example) insuring your own vehicle is optional but insuring the other guy's is mandatory.   Did you talk to the neighbor or to your agent?   If you only talked to your neighbor, my next call would be to your agent.   They have a stake in your property and will likely get you better answers than you are getting on your own.

Plus it seems less hostile if you let them go after the neighbor rather than trying to do it yourself.

My damages aren’t likely to exceed $100. He’s a good guy, he feels horrible about it and seems willing to take care of things. I always assumed home covered any damage your property (trees) did to others. Makes me wonder about new neighbor’s up the road who had a huge pine take out all the power and cable lines and two telephone poles. Telephones poles are insanely exspensive.

Listening to a $1 Beethoven 5th from HPB. Ran it through the ultrasonic and it’s very listenable now. It put the music above the crackles. Gives me hope for the other $1 classical records I have.

Pink Floyd A Collection Of Great Dance Songs. CBS Mastersound 1/2 speed. My buddy laughed at me for paying $10 for it at the Attic. Jokes on him, it not dance songs and it sounds great. Someday I’d love to find a reasonable Wish You Were Here 1/2 speed.
