Found these Kappas for $40 in excellent shape except the woofers. Put in new foam surrounds from Simply Speakers and Dynamat'd the basket of the woofer per F1nut's tip (that made a difference, IMO). These are very nice towers with a bit deeper bass than the Reference 3as so they can be played w/o a sub just fine. Still playing with positioning and tweeter, id controls. No x-over upgrades yet. Just glad to have saved them from the trash heap!

So - these speakers could be approaching 20+ years. What caps should I replace? I assume the NPEs should be falling out of spec by now - what about the polys? [maybe it is time I buy a meter that measures capacitance ah?]
