My new polk speakers
« on: March 01, 2011, 04:00:39 PM »
I just got a pair of Polk Audio RTA-11TL speakers on Saturday the 26th. They sound fantastic and are a serious upgrade over my monitor 7 series 2. They have nice clean deep bass and amazing highs. They really sound great with my Philips DFA-980. Also, me and my dad decided that if anybody wants to come over and check out our systems you are welcome to come. Just please email us first to let us know you would like to come and we will send you our address. Here is some pictures and a video. But the video does not do justice as to how good it actually sounds. here is the video: Rare Vintage Philips DFA-980, Polk audio RTA-11TL, Yamaha DVD-C920
Thanks for viewing,
Little Mikey

I was admiring those at the shop two weekends ago, Mikey!

Your system looks awesome. I'll bet it sounds that way, too.

I heard those at the shop. pretty nice speakers. And if I'm not mistaken, they came from my hometown good ole Erie, PA
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Carl, they are SL3000's. Mikey, if you do nothing else, upgrade to the RD0198-1 tweeters available from Polk and add some spikes...makes a huge difference. If you join Club Polk before ordering the tweeters the price will be $48.00 each with free 2nd day shipping. They are a drop in replacement. If you want to get serious, upgrade the crossovers. I have a few tricks when upgrading the crossovers, so feel free to contact me about that.

Thanks for the recommendations F1nut. I just got done doing the Mortite upgrade. I am going to try to get the RDO's and I think that my dad has some spikes downstairs if he will let me use them.
Thanks again,
Little Mikey
